Circle mint 100 million USDC on Blockchain Algorand
On June 17, 2025, Circle issued 100 million USDC on the Algorand blockchain. The transaction was followed by Whale Alert but did not disclose the related wallet. This large-scale issuance indicates an increasing liquidity demand from institutions, aligning with Circle's typical stablecoin supply expansion model.
Circle has not made an official statement, indicating that this may be a routine activity. USDC is currently stable at a price of 1.00 USD with a market capitalization of over 61.6 billion USD, accounting for 1.85% of the cryptocurrency market share, according to CoinMarketCap. In the past 90 days, the price of USDC has shown little fluctuation despite the new supply.
CEO Jeremy Allaire stated that the trading volume of USDC has exceeded 20 trillion USD annually and is issued on 16 blockchains, including Algorand.
