Ethereum celebrates its tenth anniversary today, during which its value has experienced an astonishing rise. From an initial $0.3, it has now climbed to over $4000, becoming the second largest crypto asset after Bitcoin, ranking 28th in global asset listings.

In the past decade, Ethereum has been widely used in areas such as decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFT), earning the title of "world computer," quietly changing many aspects of our lives.

In 2014, Ethereum raised approximately 31,000 Bitcoins through its Initial Coin Offering (ICO), which was valued at around $18 million at that time. The price of Bitcoin was about $600 each, and it is expected to break $120,000 by 2025, a rise of nearly 200 times. In comparison, the rise of Ethereum over this decade has been even more astonishing, reaching approximately 12,580 times.

In the past decade, Ethereum has undergone a transition from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoS), experienced the DAO fork event and the NFT boom. In the future, the Fusaka and Glamsterdam upgrades will further enhance its efficiency. Layer-1 scales 10 times every year, and interoperability of Layer-2 has also made breakthroughs.

In terms of commercial applications, on-chain transaction throughput, institutional adoption rates, and the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) are all steadily progressing. Some believe that Ethereum has the potential to simplify processes, lower node thresholds, and may even become the "Internet value settlement layer." Furthermore, the development of quantum-resistant encryption technology has led some to believe that its security defense capabilities could surpass those of Bitcoin.

Looking ahead to the next decade, Ethereum may gradually transition from idealism to infrastructure. When it becomes "boring", it may actually signify its true maturity. This transformation will further solidify Ethereum's leading position in the Crypto Assets and blockchain technology space.
