Exploring Intent-Centric Web3 Interaction Models

With the development of blockchain technology, user experience and interaction efficiency have gradually become the focus in the Web3 field. Traditional on-chain operations still present a high barrier for novice users, limiting the promotion of large-scale applications. To address this issue, a new interaction model is emerging - intent-centric interaction.

The intent-centric model focuses solely on the user's ultimate goal, without being limited to specific operational steps. Users only need to issue commands and sign, and the system automatically completes all necessary intermediate steps, providing users with a seamless experience similar to centralized platforms. Currently, several projects are exploring this field.

Bob the Solver

Bob the Solver is an intent-based trading infrastructure that can be integrated into account abstraction wallets and decentralized applications. It consists of two parts:

1. Solver( Solver): Use machine learning to identify and classify user intent, plan the optimal implementation path, and construct the required transactions.

2. Account Abstract Wallet: Responsible for executing transactions, consisting of bundler and paymaster. The bundler receives and plans transactions, while the paymaster manages the associated gas fees.

Anoma

Anoma is an intent-centered privacy-preserving protocol for decentralized counterparty discovery, resolution, and multi-chain atomic computation. Its core processes include:

1. The user sends an intention to the intent gossip network.
2. Solver collects and matches intents
3. The matched transactions are submitted to the crypto mempool for final execution and status updates.

The execution layer of Anoma is built on Taiga, which is a zk-circuit based on Halo2, enabling Anoma to deploy zk-rollups on Ethereum and share some security.

Essential

Essential is dedicated to building intent-based infrastructure and tools to address the MEV issue. Its core goal is to reduce the negative impact of MEV, enabling users to realize their intentions at the lowest possible cost. Essential is developing the following products:

1. General purpose domain-specific language ( DSL )
2. Intent-Centric Account Abstraction Standards for Ethereum and EVM
3. Modular Intent Layer

Flashbots Suave

Suave, launched by Flashbots, focuses on intent-centric cross-chain MEV extraction. Its architecture is composed around user trading preferences, including the expression, execution, and settlement of those preferences. Flashbots has also launched MEVM, which provides new precompiles for MEV, allowing centralized MEV infrastructure to be converted into smart contracts on decentralized blockchains.

Future Opportunities of Intent-centric

1. Intent language combined with AI: Utilizing AI technology to more accurately identify users' complex intents.

2. Third-party execution layer: Develop a fast-response, accurate processing, and secure and stable execution layer.

3. Large-scale adoption of DeFi: Projects such as Cowswap, 1inch Fusion, and UniswapX have begun adopting an intent-centric model.

4. Full-chain game development: Reduce player operation complexity through intent-centric design to enhance the gaming experience.

With the continuous development of Web3, the intent-centric model provides new ideas for building and operating complex systems, promising a more user-friendly, efficient, and transparent decentralized world.
