From Airdrop to Depth: The Journey of a Encryption Content Creator

In April 2023, I and a group of like-minded friends began our creative journey on encryption social media.

At first, we focused on writing Airdrop strategies. Each tweet required 1-2 hours of careful crafting, but often garnered 100,000 views within 12 hours. Our daily life turned into a simple cycle: waking up, writing, posting, eating, resting. Looking back at that time, our small group of creators probably accounted for about 10% of the attention on the entire encryption social media. In hindsight, that was indeed a golden era.

At that time, I would receive 1-2 collaboration invitations from project parties each month, hoping to promote their activities. However, back then, we valued influence more than monetary returns.

One morning, I was surprised to find that a tweet from my account with only 10,000 followers had received 400,000 views. My reaction at the time was: "Is this real? It's unbelievable." Seeing such a large number of views and likes brought me joy far greater than the numbers in my wallet (even though it was only four digits at the time, it was the first time I had earned this much in my life).

This situation continued until September 2023, when some changes occurred in the algorithm. Meanwhile, I temporarily left the encryption social media and did not return until December 2023. If you're curious about the reason, it's because I had some interesting things to deal with in real life at that time, so I posted a maximum of three tweets per month.

Around August 2023, I realized that the airdrop sector was not a long-term solution and was not suitable for my development. So I decided to... transition to becoming a DeFi novice.

Let's take a look at where those creators who once focused on Airdrop content have gone now? I can hardly see them in the information flow.

In December 2023, a new chapter in my encryption social media career began. I tried new writing styles, invested more effort, created more exquisite graphics, and expanded my network, but the view count actually decreased.

You may ask, has the traffic really decreased? Indeed it has.

I have started to invest much more energy than before, but the views on my tweets are only 20,000. Occasionally, it can reach 100,000, but overall, the situation is still not as good as it used to be.

You might be wondering how things are going now?

Due to the popularity of certain narratives, many people have started posting low-quality content. The overall quality of content has significantly declined, with 99% of people posting because "a certain protocol allocates 5% of the tokens to those who actively promote it, so I have to say a few more words."

The more rewards allocated to promoters, the worse the situation becomes.

I feel that the quality of my content has reached an all-time high, and the effort I put in is also increasing simultaneously, but the number of views and new followers has dropped to an all-time low.

My entire information feed is filled with content from some rankings, which is almost worthless.

How should we respond to this situation?

Perhaps during the market lull, we can discuss various protocols, strive to provide valuable content, continuously enhance content quality, and work hard to be unique.

Wishing all content creators good luck. This path is becoming increasingly difficult, and only the strongest can survive and thrive. It is important to stay focused and patient, whether in encryption social media or real life. One day, your efforts will be rewarded.
