Bitcoin production costs have risen by 9% due to increases in hashrate and energy prices.

Gate News bot message, as miners cope with the rise in network hashrate and energy prices, the average cost of mining a single Bitcoin in the second quarter is estimated to have climbed to over $70,000.

According to a report released by the Bitcoin mining research company TheMinerMag on Monday, the median production cost of Bitcoin has risen from $52,000 in the last quarter of 2024 to $64,000 in the first quarter of 2025. It is expected that this cost will increase by more than 9% in the second quarter.

TheMinerMag stated in its May/June industry update: "Direct production costs are expected to exceed $70,000 this quarter."
