On August 9, Jin10 reported that Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei, announced on Saturday that Tehran would block the "American corridor" in the Caucasus region, with or without Russian assistance. This corridor connects Turkey to Azerbaijan through Armenia. Previously, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a peace agreement in the U.S., which mentioned America's rights to develop the transport corridor that crosses Armenia. In response, Velayati stated: "The Caucasus is one of the most sensitive geographical points in the world, this corridor will not become Trump's corridor, but rather the grave of Trump's mercenaries."
